Holin Kennen, also known as Badger Shu-bad, has been a witch since age nine. She is an ordained Priestess of the Sacred Drum and was ordained as a High Priestess in the Z. Budapest lineage of the Dianic Tradition. She is also cross-trained in a pre-Gardnerian form of the Craft that dates back to at least 1562. She has been drumming for both ritual and performance since 1987 and has taught workshops in sacred drumming for almost 20 years. A legal advocate by day, Holin is also a semi-professional tribal style belly dancer who spends her remaining hours spinning and dyeing wool, dipping candles, sewing, gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, and raising herbs and flowers for culinary, medicinal, and magickal uses. Holin was the winner of the Botticelli Award for poetry at Ohio's Columbus College of Art and Design in 1981 and is returning to writing poetry after a hiatus of almost 20 years. She lives in a Victorian house in Southern Wisconsin with her partner of 20 years, four cats, and a Welsh corgi. |
